Note: if you already own a SeedSigner, XmrSignerOS is perfectly compatible with your device, and the same goes the other way round: if you get an XmrSigner, you can run SeedSignerOs without any extra effort, just as you set up XmrSignerOS.

One of the most innovative aspects of XmrSigner is the use of immutable consumer hardware. Unlike specialized hardware wallets, XmrSigner relies on components whose future use is not predefined at the time of their manufacture. This creates an additional barrier against supply chain attacks, as the hardware is neutral and not specifically designed for a crypto wallet. As a result, any attempt to insert a backdoor during manufacturing becomes extremely complex and unlikely. One of the key elements of XmrSigner is the Raspberry Pi Zero, a general-purpose mini-computer, without a pre-installed operating system and without integrated flash memory. That is, it does not have the ability to permanently store data in its electronic components and works exclusively with a custom external operating system, in our case "XmrSignerOS", loaded from a MicroSD card temporarily in RAM and loses its contents when the device is turned off. Additionally, the Raspberry Pi Zero 1.3 has neither Wi-Fi nor Bluetooth, a truly air-gapped mini-computer, the signature is carried out by an exchange of QrCode via an OV5647 type camera which is also a consumer component whose use is not predefined at the time of their manufacture and which does not have internet connectivity either. Updates are made from the microSD card.

Both Xmrsigner and SeedSigner use the same hardware. However, the key difference lies in the operating system (OS). Xmrsigner is designed to work exclusively with Monero, while SeedSigner only works with Bitcoin. You can use the premium cases for SeedSigner as well.

The enclosure is made from aluminium with a sandblasted and anodized finish and is available in a range of 3 colours (silver/black-orange-gray), you can get it in different configurations: 1) With the electronic components neatly assembled in the box and ready to use 2) In kit form with all the components for do-it-yourself assembly 3) Only the enclosure.

Only the enclosures contains the following items: Body of the case sandblasted and silver anodized aluminium - Top panel sandblasted and anodized aluminium with 3 color (black/orange/gray) - 40 gold plated pin 2x smaller than the original raspberry pi pin - 4 hexagonal head screws with internal tapping (steel) - 4 hexagonal screws (steel) - 1 protective glass for the camera - 1 joystick button silver anodized aluminum - 3 navigation buttons silver anodized aluminum.

The self-assembled kit contains the following items: All the components in the enclosure - 1x raspberry pi zero - 1x waveshare display 240×240 - 1x camera module 5 MP OV5647 - 1x micro SD card - 2m micro USB cable.

If you want to get a Signer ready to use, we will carefully assemble it for you.

Note: if you only buy the enclosure, you will not need to use the original raspberry pi zero header, I provide pins to fit the enclosure to reduce the height of the device, find the assembly instructions here or find a video of the assembly here. If you purchase a Signer as a kit or only in enclosure, we are not responsible for any damage you may cause during assembly of the components.
